When I think about what HOPE worldwide is all about, I think about families like the Zambonis.

Omar and Sady Zamboni live in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, with their daughter, Valerie, and their family has experienced HOPE worldwide in more than one way.

Omar is an entrepreneur and owner of Zamboni’s Gourmet Chilis, where he makes and sells homemade sauces, and they are delicious. Through LendHOPE worldwide, Omar received a micro-fund that helped him purchase the materials he needed to grow his business and invest in his product’s design and branding.

That support helped Omar strengthen his business and provide for his family. What’s especially meaningful is that Omar has chosen to give back, participating in LendHOPE worldwide’s cycle of giving so that other entrepreneurs can have that opportunity too.

But Omar and Sady’s story doesn’t end there.

When Valerie was born, she had a serious heart condition. Her family didn’t know what the future would hold.

Through HOPE worldwide’s Community Service Brigades, the Zambonis connected with volunteer doctors serving in Honduras. Through those relationships, they were eventually connected with a heart surgeon from the United States who traveled to Honduras to perform the surgery Valerie needed.

That connection changed everything.

Today, Valerie is alive because people chose to show up for her, and that’s what HOPE worldwide can make possible. It’s not just about meeting a need in the moment. It’s about building relationships that can change the course of a family’s life.

This Season of Giving, your gift to the Global Needs Fund helps HOPE worldwide continue showing up for people around the world through medical and dental care, disaster response, and volunteers who serve alongside communities in need.

For families like the Zambonis, your generosity can mean opportunity, care, and hope when it matters most.
